Iain Steel has been honoured by Winchester City Council and presented with the Millennium Egg – an annual award in recognition of ‘an outstanding contribution to the economy and community of the Winchester District.’

Speaking in front of The Mayor, Deputy Lord Lieutenant, politicians, business and charities leaders, at the Winchester Business Excellence Awards, Iain responded: “For anyone who knows me, it is not often I am lost for words …. but I am both honoured and humbled to be presented with this beautiful award. My family have been serving this city and the surrounding Hampshire district since 1860. My grandfather, Stanley Steel, twice Mayor of Winchester, instilled in me that we had the privilege to serve this city by helping the bereaved. Therefore, it was imperative that we give something back, hence began a history of local charitable work.”

“I am immensely proud of all the causes I work with including: the Winchester Hospice, St John Ambulance, the Theatre Royal, Trinity Winchester and, most recently, the launch of Legacy Action Week.
